From messages in recent weeks its clear people want an update on the status and progress of the JON Exchange. So here is my update.

With immediate effect I am leaving the JON Exchange process owing to differences over the pace and urgency of the work.

I still strongly believe in the need for a broadband marketplace in a fragmenting access market, and that the Joint Open Network concept is the best approach. However it was my view that the JON Exchange companies pace of progress was too slow to meet the needs of the UK market and the Government’s broadband programme.
